The Rhyming Mum is born…

There are two things I love more than anything else – my family and writing. So now that my little girl is a little bit older and I have slightly more time on my hands I feel it’s the right time to start combining the two.

I’ve finally decided to start writing a blog.
But rather than just words it’ll be my poetic log.
It’ll mostly be random ramblings about my little girl and me
As we embark on this exciting adventure as a family.

They say you should write about what you know,
So here I am giving it a go.
Putting my worries to one side
To take a journey on this magic blog ride.

Until now I haven’t shared much about my family,
So here’s your chance to get more updates from me.
I’m sure one day she’ll forgive me for over sharing.
I hope she’ll think that my sharing is caring.

I’m not a master poet. I’m not that great – it’s true.
But when your life is full of nursery rhymes you make up one or two.
Parenting can be hard and some days are tough.
But we can’t suffer in silence – enough is enough.

So through this blog I’m hoping to share,
The ups and the downs. The laughter and the despair.
You’ll quickly realise I’m just a first-time mum muddling through,
Trying to figure out what the hell I’m supposed to do.

In fact, as I’m writing this poem, getting closer to the end,
I can hear some wailing coming from my little friend.
I better rush off and try to settle her cries,
But I’ll be back with more rhymes tomorrow – See you then guys.
